I was extremely excited to visit the multi-level gaming arcades in Japan. The first gaming arcades I saw were in Toyko’s Akihabara district, and I thought that they would only be in that district since it is the electronics hub; however, I also spotted gaming arcades in Tokyo’s Shibuya district and Osaka’s Dotonbori district.
The games on each floor follow a theme as the floors change. Usually the first floor consists of prize games to draw in casual games with the tempting prizes. The upper floors vary from fighting games to mech shooter games to strategy card games.
Something I found interesting is that rather than kids being the main customers like in American arcades, the main customers were adults.
